In 2021, Optimum Modular Solutions embarked on a journey to help address the challenges that have impeded the wide-spread implementation and adoption of modular construction in the U.S.

Modular experience is the key to success. The OMS team has provided services on over $1B of modular projects (wood & steel volumetric, shipping containers and panelized). This experience has enabled us to apply “lessons learned” to every project from design inception through completion of the project.
​The modular industry has been negatively impacted by its fragmented delivery method throughout both the design and construction phases. By combining almost 30 years of conventional construction experience with modular and design experience, OMS is able to provide a fully integrated onsite/offsite solution to deliver successful modular projects.
As an independent, third party, modular consulting and development management company, we are not biased towards any particular offsite system. We simply want the right fit for a project to meet our clients' goals.

We carefully select project design and delivery teams that align with our philosophy that efficient and respectful teamwork is the cornerstone of project success, especially relating to fast-paced offsite construction projects. We take the time to understand our clients' desired level of project involvement and customize a professional suite of services and reporting.
Practicality
By taking lessons learned and integrating our vast construction risk management experience, we help guide the design team towards a "design for worst-case scenario" concept, which has proved highly successful. Despite diligent planning and having the very best teams, challenges occur on all construction projects, regardless of the construction systems utilized. We set out to expeditiously address issues in a highly pragmatic manner, to the benefit of the project.

Leadership
Darren Seary, FRICS
Over the past three decades, Darren has held senior management roles in the design, construction management and risk management sectors of the conventional and modular construction industries. Contractors, developers, non-profits, lenders and investors are all counted as his past and present clients.
​
Darren was born and raised in Reading, England and gained his degree from DeMontfort University in Leicester, England. After working in London for four years and gaining his professional qualifications, Darren emigrated to the US in 2001 and became a US citizen in 2015.
​
Despite having a strong education and professional qualifications, Darren attributes much of his career success to investing time into the hands-on, practical side of construction. Surrounded by a family of skilled tradespersons, Darren transitioned from plastic play tools to "Dad's apprentice" at a young age and now enjoys (mostly) the remodeling and maintenance that comes with home ownership. Between college semesters, Darren could be found laboring on construction sites to connect theory with application.

Away from Teams calls, factory visits, site observations and trips to Home Depot, Darren enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.
